Shyla’s Masks for Hope is a fundraising and community-building initiative of the Tang family of Vancouver, BC, in loving memory of their daughter, Shyla Ann Tang, who courageously battled a rare form of childhood cancer for three years before passing away December 18, 2019 at the age of five.
Very soon after Shyla’s passing, COVID-19 was declared worldwide pandemic and public health emergency. In the spirit of hope, health and community, the Tang family will be making protective facemasks for the community and donating a portion of the sale proceeds from Shyla’s masks to Childhood Cancer Family Support (CCFS). CCFS provides financial aid and community support to families with children fighting cancer.
Shyla’s family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, support and generosity received from numerous charitable organizations throughout Shyla’s journey. Today, their mission is to forever pay-it-forward. Every facemask is made in loving memory of Shyla Tang and each one sold will go to help families with children fighting cancer.
